H.E.R.O. for Children Non-Profit Office
H.E.R.O. for Children is a non-profit dedicated to improving the quality of life for children infected with and affected by HIV/AIDS. Founded in 2003, its volunteer network serves more than 350 kids in Georgia.
I completed this project for Studio III at SCAD. The design concept centers on the red ribbon, the symbol of HIV/AIDS awareness. A ribbon of circulation space circumscribes the office, doubling as a wayfinding and branding device.
After conducting interviews with H.E.R.O. staff, I designed the project to include multi-functional spaces that can serve both employees and kids. These include conference rooms and open areas that can double as classrooms, workshop spaces, and volunteer training rooms.
