How do video consultations work?

A video consultation is ideal if you want to discuss a range of design topics and want quick, targeted advice and recommendations. Video consultations are for those who are happy to do the design work themselves, and don’t need tangible design deliverables, such as renderings, mood boards, or mockups.

How do I book a video consultation?

To begin, please reach out to schedule a good time for our chat. After you book your consultation and submit your payment, I will send you a link to my detailed online questionnaire, where you can upload photos of your space.

How should I prepare for my video consultation?

Before our consultation, please gather a list of questions and topics you wish to discuss so that we can maximize our time together. I will also email you a detailed questionnaire prior to our meeting, where you can describe the topics you wish to discuss in detail.

How long are video consultations?

All my video consultations have a 1-hour minimum. If you feel you need longer than 1 hour, you can book a 75-minute or 90-minute consultation.

For repeat clients, I also offer 15-minute and 30-minute consultation options. These are perfect for those who have follow-up questions after our initial consultation and who might not need another full, one-hour session.

What types of topics can we discuss during my video consultation?

We can discuss any topic related to interior design, including:

• Paint and stain colors
• Furniture and home decor selection and placement
• Floor plan and furniture layouts
• Stores and brands to consider
• Styling (for sofas, beds, walls, etc.)
• Window treatments
• Cabinetry and built-ins
• Light fixtures
• Hardware
• Plumbing fixtures
• Artwork
• Exterior paint and stain colors
• Exterior design, including shutters, roofing, lighting, and hardware

What is the cost of a video consultation?

A standard, 60-minute video consultation is $175. Each additional 15-minute increment is $45.

Is there anything you can’t provide during our video consultation?

While we can discuss a wide range of design topics, I’m afraid I can’t:

• Order or purchase any items for you
• Oversee any construction or design work
• Communicate or coordinate with other professionals, such as architects, contractors, or builders
• Provide tangible end products beyond advice and recommendations (such as renderings, mood boards, floor plans, or mockups) unless you choose to hire me as a designer for your project

Will I receive free paint swatches with my video consultation?

Yes, if we’re discussing interior or exterior paint color selections during our consultation, I would be happy to send you large swatches in the Sherwin-Williams and/or Benjamin Moore colors of your choice. These can be sent anywhere in the contiguous U.S. or Canada (no P.O. boxes, please).

What if I have follow-up questions after our consultation ends?

If you find you have any follow-up questions after our consultation, I encourage you to book another meeting with me. I’m happy to offer shorter video consultations (15 or 30 minutes in length) to repeat clients.

How do I get started?
